Canyoning - A Waterfall Experience!  

Best Adventure Experience!  A great way to connect with nature. An amazing guided hike through and along a river. You will be guided all along the way with transportation provided from the operator's location.  Combine a nature hike with 8 waterfalls and rappelling, no previous experience is needed!

What to Bring:  Closed-toe shoes with good grip, water bottle, and a change of clothes.

You will see amazing waterfalls and learn how to rappel. You do NOT need any previous experience, the guides make it very easy and can take over at any time.

Expect to get wet. Guides will have dry bags and will also take photos and videos for you! Please wear closed-toe shoes.

You might also want to bring a dry change of clothes for after the tour.

 Begin with a short 20 minute hike through the rainforest, when I did this we saw monkeys twice and the views are stunning!

Lunch with A View at Los Manglares.    Directly on your route back from the Waterfall Canyoning Experience.

Impressive views of Garza Island, this local restaurant has incredible food at great prices!    Be sure to try a Betida, a natural fruit drink that is sooo delicious!

You are also likely to see white-face Capuchin Monkeys here.

After enjoying lunch at Mirador Los Manglares, visit the stunning Playa Ventana.  Ventana means "window" in Spanish.   Inspired by the cave the provides a window into the Pacific Ocean.    

Bring your beach clothes with you on the Wildlife Riverboat Expedition as you will go directly to Ventana Beach after lunch.   It is on route and more convenient to not go back to your villa first.  

Ventana Beach looks like something out of a national geographic documentary.   Here the mountains are closer to the beach than anywhere else in Costa Rica.   The amazing sprawling sand is bordered by an enchanting jungle forest.    There is a beautiful cave to explore.  

Swim in the shallow waters and enjoy a local Costa Rican Ice Cream drink, the Churchill.

There is free parking and a public bath house there to change or rinse off.

We suggest waterfront dining at La Percela Restaurant.   An amazing view of the Pacific Ocean.   Featuring all types of food from locally caught seafood to vegetarian options.   

Get there around 4:30 to see the monkeys that pass through and to be able to enjoy the sunset while dining.  Sunset is at 5:30!

 Rafting with Lunch, Guide, and Taxes 

 An iconic Costa Rican Experience, white water rafting is both invigorating and connects you with nature. Suited for all ages over 10. My wife was reluctant to do this as she thought it would be scary, but it was incredible and one of the best experiences she has had. 

4 Rivers to Choose From:

Savegre River (class II/III): Available during dry season and rainy season, Previous experience is not required. Mix of calm waters with some mild rapids.

Chorro River (class III/IV): Available only during the dry season, previous experience is needed.

Naranjo River (class III/IV): Available only during the rainy season, previous experience is needed.

Guabo River (class III/IV): Available only during the rainy season, previous experience is needed.

 Dominical Beach Costa Rica has easy parking that is free with plenty of room.

Dominical Beach is a Hippie Surf Town with Beach Vendors.  Located only 

17 km from Casitas Del Rio Riverfront Nature Lodge.

This beach is unique due to the large number of almond trees that almost certainly attract the Scarlet Macaws. They have been there every time we are there.

Poza Azul Waterfall - Easy Access and Great Swimming Hole!  Located only 14 kilometers from Casitas Del Rio Riverfront Nature Lodge!   

With so many waterfalls to choose from, what makes this one unique? Easy access from the road. You can easily park and within a few steps, you are at the waterfall.

 Also, the large swimming hole is easy to get in and enjoy. Also the road to the waterfall is super easy and mostly paved. You can get there with a 2x2 vehicle with no problem. 

Plan to be there no later than 5:15 to enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and stunning sunsets!

Located only a couple of minutes from Casitas Del Rio Riverfront Nature Lodge!
